On May 30th, Christie’s Hong Kong will present several outstanding Buddhist statues from prominent sources during the Spring Auction in Hong Kong, all from important collections of collectors. Among them, two statues of gold-plated Buddhas are closely related to the Taiwanese collection industry.

In 1991, the open Hong Kong Museum of Fine Arts in Taiwan was divided into four categories: ceramics, gilt bronze statues, calligraphy and paintings, and fun-loving catalogues. The total number exceeds 30,000 pieces of cultural relics, and it is known as the “Little Palace”. Zhang Tiangen, the founder of the Hongyi Art Museum, loves Chinese cultural relics and is enthusiastic about collecting all kinds of exquisite works of art. He has the best wishes for starting an art gallery. In 1984, at the banquet of Zhang Tiangen's 70th birthday, the children decided to set up an art gallery and implement it in order to meet the old man's heart. In 1988, the Hongyi Art Culture and Education Foundation, a consortium of corporations, was established and started to build an art gallery. On January 16, 1991, the museum opened and officially opened to the public on the 22nd of that month.
Among its extensive collection, the gilt bronze Buddha statue is a very famous collection of the Hongyi Art Museum. It contains collections of fine gilt bronze statues from the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, statues of the Sui Dynasty, bronze and bronze statues of Guanyin and the Qing Dynasty. Copper is the most representative portrait of Buddha.
This will be the first time that Christie's Hong Kong "Considerate Yourself" will be the one of the old bronze statues of Bodhisattva. It will be one of the oldest collections in China and will be exhibited in Japan in 2001. This shows you can see the collection of the Hongyi Art Museum.
